Can stress causes the pregnancy test to be positive?

Out of curiousity, my girlfriend’s period is late for 2 weeks now and she took the pregnancy test and it came out to be possible. But, she’s assuming that she is not because she has been very stress with everything. Another symptom that she is having is that her ******* got bigger. I dont know if it’s tender/swollen. Also, she recently lost more than 8 pounds in a month (last november) and she barely gained 3 pounds back this month. Is it possible that stress cause the test to be positive?

NO. the hormone hcg has to be present in the body and they only thing that causes that is pregnancy.

NO…pregnacy tests detect the horomome HCG which is realeased ONLY during pregnacy.

NO, she is pregnant, you make higher levels HCG when you are pregnat which is what the pregnancy test detects.

No sweetie… umm pregnancy test have nothing to do with stress.. face it .. you knocked her up. Sorry.. go and look for cribs. and pick out great baby names.. if you can’t think of one.. name it after me .

No, stress has nothing to do with a pregnancy test. She’s definately pregnant.

stress will mess with her weight, but there is no such thing as a false positive.. it detects a hormone that you only have when pregnant, so no mistakes there

Well a missed period can be blamed for stress but a pregnancy test detects a hormone called hgc and you only have that if you are pregnant! She should see a doc!

With all those signs, I doubt the test is wrong.
Most women experience a weight loss, slow gain, and then the weight comes more steadily and quickly after the first trimester.
If her ******* are swelling, it’s also likely that she is, indeed, pregnant.
She should make an appointment with her gyno as soon as possible, because she’s probably two months along.

No. Pregnancy tests detect a certain hormone that occurs when pregnant. Your gf is pregnant.

How can a pregnancy test come out “possible”? It’s either positive or negative. If it came out positive, then she’s pregnant. Have her see a doctor to confirm it.

First is she wanting the pregnacy? if yes she could be stress .If no she could be stressed. this is kinda a scary deal. her ****** being tender is a strong sign of pregnancy ,I have 4 children and that was the first thing I notice ,Iam kind of small chested so any change is noticable, weight lose can give a wrong reading Iam annorixic and bulimic and it did effect my test results, I only gained 11 pounds with 1st one 13 pounds with 2nd on 12 pounds with 3rd and 10 pounds with 4th one, So she might just going to not gain lot’s. people didn’t even no I was pregnant.
